Contemporary Book Club Fiction Novelist
Poignant, playful stories with always messy protagonists.
Hello!
I’m Elizabeth, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I write stories about well-meaning people and those they love, and how their relationships are impacted—perhaps by guilt, or the fear of losing that love—when big life-stuff happens. Sometimes, there’s even a little bit of revenge. I like difficult topics, but prefer a light touch, as I can’t help but notice the humor in heartbreak, and derive cathartic joy from the sort of things that make one laugh at a funeral.
Finding understanding in words on page is one of the most intimate forms of connection I’ve experienced. The hope a reader out there will breathe a sigh of relief and think, “Yes… Okay. Here’s proof that I’m not alone in this,” is absolutely what drives me to get words down each day.
I love connecting with other creatives as well as those who don’t realize they’re creatives yet. Please check out my Seasonal Haiku Contest as a fun way we can stay in touch.
